color blindness and mosquito bites?

does color blindness affect your ability to see a mosquito bite because it's red???  i find this to be very interesting...

so this someone (whose name i will leave out) had a mosquito bite on his forehead.  and i kept pointing it out to him, and he can't seem to see it.  it was very OBVIOUS...bigger than the size of a quarter!  but nope...he can't seem to see it.  isn't that interesting?!!! 

o by the way...if i ever find that mosquito, it's gonna die a horrible death.  i'm going to break every one of his legs, pull out his wings, and leave him for dead.  that punk bit me FOUR TIMES...one being on my face!!!! 

Cast Iron?

i bought a cast iron skillet a while back, and didn't get a chance to use it until last night.  my mom's away on a cruise for a week.  what does that mean?  my younger brother (like any typical spoiled chinese male...youngest child) eats take out for the week.  so being the great and wonderful sister that i am, i decided to give him little taste of my newly developed cooking skills!  i decided to test out my new cast iron skillet by making steak!  blah blah blah...steak came out on the salty side...and a bit unevenly cooked.  i've made decent steaks before, as some of you can testify. so i blame it on the lack of measuring cups and poor meat quality.   

anyways...so after we ate (and no i didn't have steak), i was ready to clean the skillet.  BUT...the cleaning instructions clearly state to NOT use soap.    hmm....how does that work?  just use hot water and a stiff brush?  so i followed the instructions...blah blah blah...hot water and brush...and when i wiped it dry with a paper towel, it was obviously not clean.  the paper towel turned charcoal.  it supposed to add flavoring?  is it safe not to wash it clean???  gosh, i don't know if i wanna use that skillet again.  just feels so dirty...yuck!

Life without the Mr....

it's been less than 2 days since dee left for china, and it's been quite hard.  it was so hard saying goodbye.  i'm such a whimp.  urgh...i'll be one of those moms who cry when sending my child to school for the first time.  never thought i would miss him this much.  i was supposed to stay at my folks' in ctown until he comes back on the 24th.  but ended up staying in queens for a few days.  clean up a bit...eh, who am i kidding.  haha...i didn't clean.  barely cooked, until i was starving.  felt like i was in college all over again.  just missing my 13" tv in the room.    gloria knows...haha...

it's gonna be the longest 2 weeks ever.  thankfully my brother is off from school.  maybe i'll challenge him to some wii tennis. 

anyways, i'll be in ctown...so call me out if you're in the hood or wanna hang out.  i'm all yours....(only until the 24th, that is).

Oldschool...

so i was surfing the web...and came across THIS at urbanoutfitters.com!  it's the reebok pump!!!

c'mon now...if you grew up in the late 80s, early 90s, you would know what the Reebok Pumps are.  as i looked at the picture, all the memories from grade school came back!!  growing up in a chinese family, we get to buy a new pair of shoes or sneakers right before chinese new year.  my cousin (Chris) and i would always get similar styles (of course he'd get the boy's and i'd get the girl's style).  i remember that we each got a pair, and we would pump it like a madman just for the heck of it.  i still don't know what it does...other than tightening the area.  but regardless...we had them because they were HOT (well, at that time, they were...).

sigh...i can't believe we're now both married (not to each other, you sicko)...and he's going to be a daddy at the end of the month.  how quickly we're grown.

ps. i'm not going to be a mommy anytime soon, so please don't ask!!!!
